The Bates WIDE All Purpose Heritage CAIR Saddle features a truly high performance seat that delivers a level of comfort and contact never previously experienced in a WIDE saddle. The Heritage leather upholds the traditional European practices of natural oil and wax tannage. The high oil and wax content of this performance leather ensures optimum suppleness and enhanced rider grip. Characteristic of the finest natural leather, the leather is heavily pre-oiled with visible shade variations, often being referred to as a pull up leather with a traditional, if not distressed aesthetic. The depth of color is dependent on the infused oil content within the fibers of each particular hide. The distinctive tones of color are particularly visible when the leather is bent as the color lightens returning over time to its original color as the oils migrate back through into the fibers. Saddles available with Heritage Leather combine the comfort and luxury of double-lined leather on the seat and on the knee inserts, with this unique leather being featured in the skirt (over the stirrup bar) and the saddle flaps. A deep seat and ultra narrow waist enables you to sit deeper into the saddle for a well-balanced and central position. Maximized saddle stability is ensured with the adjustable Y-girthing system offering even distribution of pull from both the front and rear of the saddle. It is absolutely critical that you adjust this system equally on both sides of the saddle.
